Applicants for the ACA Continuing Education Scholarships for Women must

  • be women, aged 25 or over
  • be residents of Crawford County, PA at the time of application
  • have completed high school or the equivalent
  • have completed no more than two years of college

Preference will be given to applicants who have realistic educational goals and the potential for academic success.

There will be an information session on March 13, 2008 at 7 pm in Schultz East Alcove (#4a on campus map). Please come and learn about beginning or returning to college, career goals, financial assistance, using your skills and abilities, what to expect on a college campus, and adjustments that older students are likely to face. All those applying for this scholarship are strongly encouraged to attend.

Applications for the 2008-2009 academic year will be available in February 2008 at the Meadville Public Library, the Meadville YWCA, or by writing to the address below. The application is also available for download in pdf format. (Note: You must have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software to be able to view and print the pdf application. Acrobat Reader is available from the Adobe website.)

THE COMPLETED APPLICATIONS SHOULD INCLUDE THE APPLICATION FORM AND A PHOTOCOPY OF HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, TRANSCRIPTS, GED OR WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION.

Applicants will be interviewed in March and the awards announced shortly thereafter. Because employees of Allegheny College are eligible for tuition remission under another program, employees of Allegheny College are ineligible for this scholarship.
